Which means of transport do you think is best for going from Limerick (or north Cork would be doable) to Belfast? I'll be going on Erasmus in Queens in September, and having hardly ever travelled via public transport before, I have no idea what I'm doing! I'm just wondering if coming home the occasional weekend would be doable. Thanks in advance :)

    Limerick - Dublin,
Bus Transfer between Heuston and Connolly
    Dublin - Belfast

Check out the cheapest option with the student fares and the times that suit. 2 express buses maybe?

Think of working out by yourself how to travel on public transport from A to B as part of your life experience :)

OP, I think that the poster was trying to tell you to catch the train.

    Workable, but expensive.

There's an enormous number of private operators doing buses for students, I'm sure you'll find several options.

    Thanks everyone! :D

@Banjoxed I said "means of transport"; I didn't ask people to work it out for me. Learn to read before trying to be a know-it-all.

from North Cork, train from Mallow or Charleville is the best option as you would have to change coaches in Limerick with that option. Coach however would be a lot cheaper albeit slower

Think of posting like this as a good way to pick up infractions!

Asking about transport trips is a long standing part of this board -- if you don't like that don't read or post on such threads. If the thread title is too vague, just move on once you realise the topic is of no interist.

Do it by train- I've done Limerick-Belfast many many times. It's a long aul trip and the comfort of the train is worth it.

A student return Limerick-Dublin is €21 (single is same price I think). Book your Dublin-Belfast leg online for €14.99. So €35 in total is well worth it!

The Luas only takes 10-15 mins and the fare is €1.80

As is the 90 and €1.45 on Leap. It is quicker in the morning though it stops at 10AM.
