Skydemon flightplan not received by Shannon

I've been using the Skydemon app and website recently and find it excellent. I have the full subscription and have used it twice so far to file VFR flightplans.

The first time it worked perfectly. I called Shannon beforehand to confirm they had received it and they had. I thought this thing is great.

Last week I filed another plan, and after receiving confirmation that it was successfully filed, I assumed (I know!) that I didn't need to call Shannon this time. However, when I asked for start-up, neither Weston nor Dublin had any record of it.

Has anyone else had this problem? I know they do state to check with the tower beforehand but is there a reason why the relevant units would not have received it? Is the problem with Skydemon or Shannon? It was sent to EISNZQZX EINNZPZX

If you say Weston or Dublin did not receive it, did you put EIDWZQZX in the AFTN address field too?

What was the route you filed? If it was something short like DUB DCT then it could have looked incomplete

You should give the AIS in Shannon a call the next time and ask weather it had been received at all. All plans are logged on a data logger on receipt, so it is very easy to trace it once it has been received. That is assuming it has been received from Skydemon at all!

I didn't put any of those addresses in, Skydemon did it. It was a plan around DUB zone and the Lambay transit back to Weston.

I guess I'll just have to keep checking with AIS from now on.

Off topic but why the 'Demon'? Doesn't conjure up the best connotations personally.

True! It was actually originally called SkyAngel, but it was changed, possibly because of another GPS related product called SkyAngel

On the same topic is the Iaa website of registering on line and filing a Fpl through it reliable?

I've never had a flightplan not go through. The biggest issue I've had is, because I use it so infrequently, remembering my username and password! They give no clues as to what it is, there's no password reset, I got no confirmation email when it was set up and I dont get any confirmation receipts after filing (says it will send one to your email address). So if you register, write the info down!

Yep, I have the same problem, can't remember my password. It should be revamped a bit.

I've filed many VFR and 10+ IFR plans online with them and they have been there and waiting each time no issues

On a side note, lastpass is what you need. It's an addon for IE and Mozilla. When you open up your browser you login to it and each time you go onto a site with a username/password it fills in the gaps. Saves writing down all those pesky passwords. There are similar apps for IOS as well. Google password manager.

I always ring Shannon and file the plan over the phone, at least you know its done and confirmed.
