I'm wondering how strict are these apartments on letting non-residents in at night? Would it be possible for a friend to come and stay in our apartment even if she isn't booked in? Do they only allow people in at night that are booked in to the apartments?

they do not check to see who is coming and going, and you are quite entitled to invite a guest back to your apartment.

It depends what time of the season you're staying there, from like May till a good bit into June they usually don't care and after that is peak season since the leaving cert finishes.. They usually supply wristbands then so they know whose booked in with them or not. Depends again on which guys on security, sometimes they don't care sometimes and sometimes they do!

Saying that, I snuck a friend in a few times when they wouldn't let him in, by going through the gate that's on the far side of saints bar :L
