Water Tank

Just a quick one regarding a old slurry tank that I intend to use for water for livestock. I need to get water to land I have taken a few miles away. I bought this old slurry tank which I thought I might use. It is in reasonable condition with good tyres and should be ok for pulling behind the tractor. My question is it ok to use an old slurry for water in the first place and secondly what would use to clean it out . A relation can do any cutting and welding so that is not a problem. Was thinking of setting up a drinker at the back of it like the ones used in slatted sheds. Or should I use a drinking trough set up at the back of it. And my final question does water go stagnant in the likes of these tanks after a while.
As usual I am very thankful for any information or indeed any other ideas you may have. Thanks in advance

Stale water shouldn't be too much of a problem as light won't e getting to it.

I'd have thought flushing water through a few times would clean it enough. You could always suck 25l hypochloride into it with a tank of water and slosh it round plenty.
