Recommend a filter coffee maker

Can anyone recommend a filter coffee maker? I did a search and it's a long time since this has been asked. I'm willing to consider all price ranges.

I know a french press is desirable but it's a present and the persons morphy richards coffee maker has broken and they liked it, the volume it produced and the way it kept the coffee heated.

I would try one of the four that SCAA has certified. Especially the Technivorm is the best out there. I've also heard great things bout the bunn and the bonavita.

Especially since it's a gift, a replacement would probably be well received.

Perhaps r maybe an upgrade is in order. I just want to make an educated decision.

It is indeed. I've had it now for about 18 months and think it's fantastic. I bought mine from Coffee Angel. At that price, it's a steal. Well recommended.

Just to update. I bought the Melitta Aroma in the end. Friend is delighted with it. Had a cup today and it was excellent. There is no heating element in the base, the pot is thermal and has glass lining the inside so it doesn't stew the coffee and keeps it at a consistent temperature for a couple of hours. The coffee tastes as it should (the morphy richards made it taste different from usual). It's very easy to use , coffee was ready in about five minutes. Perhaps I'll get one for myself. Would definitely recommend. Thanks.
