Somewhere in October

Looking for ideas for somewhere in Europe to spend a week in early October? We've been to Malta in Feb this year, and while we could go back would rather somewhere else. Thinking of Greece/Crete maybe, but not sure on how the weather etc would be? Anyone any ideas or advice?

Have been to Crete in early October (also mid and late October) and the weather has always been very good. The evenings can be a little cool you may have to wear a jumper or jacket. Crete is a gorgeous island and I would highly recommend a visit.
