Day trip to Phillip Island and watch the penguin parade in the evening although it will be freezing cold sitting on the beach at night this time of year! Day trip along the Great Ocean Road. Tour of the MCG and catch a footy match for a start.

Eureka Sky Deck, go around 4.30pm ish so you can still see the views during day light and you can stay for sunset.
Day trip to the Dandenong Ranges.
    Great Ocean Road.
    Go to a footie game!
Ramsay St (Neighbours) tour (if thats your thing!)
Lots of great places for grub in Melbourne; Chinatown, Victoria St, Fitzroy, Richmond etc.
There are free walking tours of the city that go from the visitors centre at Fed Square a few times a day.
Brighton Beach is really pretty with the little summer huts.
    Wineries tour in Yarra Valley.
Also some great great live music venues around the city as well..

    Enjoy your trip!

That's gone up to $5. Still better value than the double decker bus tour. (they do the same route).

The free tram does a circle of CBD and some of the attractions. Is a good free way to get out to the Docklands which are very nice to wander around, shop and have a meal before you hit the Emirates stadium for a footy game.

Healesville Sanctuary is a good place to see platypus & all the other indigenous critters. You would be close to wine area out there so could visit vineyards in Yarra valley/Yarra Glen. Innocent Bystander have a place at end of town right beside the White Rabbit brewery.
You could potentially go skiing but I'm not sure if there is organized transport. Bright is a nice town to see up there in the high country and there are a couple of micro brewery in town.
If you want to taste the best Margherita pizza in the world this year head for 400 Gradi on Lygon in Brunswick, you'd have to book dinner but lunch would be handy enough. Temple brewery is around the corner & the Alehouse has a weekly rotation of draught beers
