What about a 5610 then. I thought a 4000 was good for round bales and a 4610 was the newer 4000

Longer the better, and a set of front weights a good idea.

I have been doing a lot of research on fords lately as I'm thinking of buying a 4000 with a front loader. Anyone I have talked to recommend these as being well able to lift bales.

They maybe able to lift them but modern bales can be very heavy, front axel might not be up to it. Its a case of the bigger the better.
    6610 up i'd be thinking.

    2 or 4 wheel drive?

I have a 4 wheel drive 5610. Can lift them but is a little light on the steering. 4610 probably be fine with a set of weights
