So, been in any interesting Beta's lately? Open or closed, don't breach your NDA if it's still closed.

What was your first? Last? Best? Worst?


My first was 'Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising' back in 2003/4
Last was 'Battlefield Hardline'
Best was probably 'Torchlight II'
Worst was definitely 'Command and Conquer 4'

First was Stargate Worlds. It was bad. Very buggy, they just gathered user to stress test the servers for short durations (2-3 hours every 2 weeks?) most of the minigames and mechanics were incomplete, Stargates were placeholders and placeholder notifications were all over the place for missing features. Fall through the world, etc. etc. Basically, they had no business releasing that to players NDA or no NDA, it effectively ruined any hype for the game and the project was shelved a couple months later.

Battlefield Hardline is just a Battlefield reskin/mod

If I've been in other betas I cant even remember - they were correctly close enough to launch that you wouldn't even notice save for the rogue minor bug. But SGW Beta bittered my appetite for playing pre-launch titles. Unless you count Early acccess and kickstarter then you can include Prison Architect, Stomping Land, Void Destroyer to that.

Friend of mine was in that SGW one too, said exactly the same as you.

Shame really, the idea was pretty classy

And yeah, BFH isnt great really, although FPS's arent really my thing i like BF3, didnt like hardline
