Ariva 252 not detecting connected HDD

    My Ferguson Ariva 252 was intermittently losing the HDD attached, to the point where it didn't record a few things and when on the REC screen everything is greyed out except PVR Storage Information and Timer Setting, but now it's doing it permanently and I can't get it to detect the drive. If I go into Storage Information it's a black screen except for the Format DVR buttons down the bottom. I've tried rebooting, cold booting disconnecting the drive and then reconnecting. Any ideas anyone?

    format your Hdd on your laptop n try again and maybe try reload your 252 firmware

    Maybe the drive just isn't that compatible with the 252
