    Hi,

I've got an Aldi Tevion satbox HDSR 600 and it does not list Channel 5 . I checked Lyngsat for a transponder ref , and it's transponder ref is not listed on the sat box.

I tried to add the transponder(109654 22000 H) but it tells me it already exists.???

    Puzzzled.....

A blind scan did not find it ..

    Any ideas ?

    A.

    10964 H 22000 5/6

    Right :)

They are the refs I had (typo in my 1st above)

However , the problem seems to be with box itself.
It will not allow me to add a transponder, even tho 'it offers the option to add.
When I enter the figures , it says "That transponder already existed". (sic)
But it is not already listed as a transponder...

Try a slight difference such as 10965. You can have some frequency tolerance but it may fool the box and let you add it.

It's a friend's box and I've left his place by now.

I'll ask him to try that , thanks.

When it says that the transponder already exists, I kinda suspected that there were 'tolerence bands' and that an existing one , even tho' different, but close, was the problem.

    So , let's see what transpires :)

    Oh dear!
There are several references to this problem on boards.....

Looks like the box has a problem. Suggested to be interference.

Are you doing a FTA scan only on that transponder?

I've come across a problem like this previously on some FTA receivers where some FTA channels are seen as Pay-TV ($) channels and are not found on a FTA scan but if you do a full pay-TV/FTA scan the channel(s) may be found.

    Afraid not :(

Tried all combinations FTA , ALL .....

It just will not find anything for that transponder ref (and maybe others too ?)

I temporarily put another receiver in place early today and scanned with it.
No problem, it found everything on 28.2

Definately the receiver has a problem.

The idea that interference might be an issue has been suggested and I remember he had the receiver sitting directly on top of another STB (don't know what it was - must check with him).

    Ah ! .

    I've just reread your comment.

You mean do a complete scan for ALL transponders ...

Did not do that . I was afraid it might screw up.....

Next day will try that .

I was suggesting to do a single transponder scan but you could try an all transponder scan. Not sure what this does on that receiver, does it clear/reset all existing channels or simply updated the existing list with any new found channels?

I've just remembered - we did do a full blind scan (it was a long day :) .
    No joy.

It's a little frustrating. It lists the transponder it is currently scanning, in a scrolling table but does not indicate if new ones are found. It adds any new channels found, so we ended up with a duplicated list. We did have some variations, since he had , way back , scanned pointing at 28.2 , but selected a differently named satellite ( Astra1 19.2) , so all the channels listed for both 19.2 and 28.2 !

It does not indicate if it found extra transponders.

Like I say thewre have been other threaqds on boards about this box. I think it may have inherent failings.

I was hoping that someone might have a link to a firmware upgrade. Tevion / Aldi/ (and the manufacturer - philex Electronic ) - are of no use in the matter.
