    Hi Guys,

I'd like to have some channels to flick through on my bedroom TV but can't seem to get anything?

I have this tv and this aerial

I've tried selecting the "DTV" input and did an Auto Tune and it seems to recognise a few channels but doesn't actually display anything, just a black screen.

I also tried Auto Tune on the standard analogue "TV" input but also get nothing, just fuzzy static.

Am I missing something here? Is my antenna enough or do I need some sort of Saorview box??

    Thanks for any help/clarification!

The TV may only be Freeview as it's 2008. If it gets the Radio channels and nothing else, that is the problem.

    That aerial is overpriced junk.
    See

Depending on location you need Indoor, attic or outdoor aerial.

Don't spend extra on amplified indoor aerial, or buy a "Rabbits ear" type or spend more than €15 on an indoor aerial to test.

An indoor aerial of the multi-rod pictured in link will often work in the attic even if it doesn't in the room with TV. An extension cable to window sill facing transmitter makes a huge difference too.
