Part time work

    Guys trying to make sense of this situation.
    Started a part-time job. I am a full-time student and moved from back to education to a job-seekers payment.
    I have secured some part-time work which is initially a temporary contract.
    What do I need to provide for my new employer. Do I need a statement from the social welfare to indicate what payments I have received this year to calculate my tax liability on my earnings. I am confused also as to how this employment will effect my payment. Some information I saw online suggest that for each day that I work the first €20 is disregarded and that 60% of the remaining earning for that day is calculated as means.

    Somewhere else online said that part-time workers are considered to have 5 working days in a weeks and each day worked reduces your payment by 1/5 and no more than 3 day may be worked. It also said that sunday work now counts for a day. From what I remember Sunday work used to be disregarded. What I want to know is how I document to the social welfare the hours I have worked in each week. I will be payed once a month does anyone know if this has any bearing on how my benefit is calculated.

    I am receiving the means tested payment which ever one that is. Is that where the difference is. One criteria for JA vs another for JB, guess that makes sense.

    You will get a form to fill in every week(x and o)this needs to be returned to your local office every week.you will be means tested on your weekly income,and your weekly payment will be adjusted accordingly.
