Wr are thinking about buying a site but don't know much about doing so. The site was priced at 27k in 2011 and now for sale at 45k. When we enquired about it we were told about having to pay a contribution to our county council. Can somebody tell me what this is this normal.
Also how do you bid on a site?

If an Auctioneer/Estate Agent has the site for sale put bid through them. You should make bid subject to getting planning permission. Need to contact your Solicitor once bid is accepted. Get plans drawn up. Apply for Planning Permission - this will take 3-4 months and the Council will specify in the planning conditions how much the development charge will be. This is a Local Authority charge for public services and is payable before you commence building.
