    Hi all,

Just wondering if the bigger firms still give bonuses to trainees for successfully passing their exams? Or has this sort of thing stopped in recent years?

For some reason I had the impression that you could expect a few hundred euros from your employer for passing the likes of CAP1 or CAP2s?

Amazing how it has depleted over time; when I passed FAE in 1994 (shock horror), we had lunch in the partners dining room and at each seat was an ingraved wooden pen (cheapskates) plus a bank draft for IR£1,500 (about €1,800).

It's €2,500 for passing FAE in big 4

That's closer to the inflated value from 1994; bigmc23 suggested it was only €1,000 for Big 4. MAybe it varies from firm to firm, it certainly did 20 years ago.
