James Dyer was my great grandfather. I understand that he died in Roscrea, Co Tipp. How can I search death records online without paying money on sites?

    https://familysearch.org/

Roscrea is in the Roscrea district handily enough so if you search by name and place of death there with a rough idea of the years you should get better details; however you will have to pay the GRO €4 for a copy of the cert.

Thanks for that. I don't mind paying €4 but some of the sites charge rediculous fees even to search :(

There's not many Irish records you need to pay to search. IFHF records (church and certain eras of civil records) give you a huge number of searches for every item you buy; Family Search has the civil indexes and the NAI has the Censuses and some other records.
