JSB after spending the last few months working abroad

    Hi guys

    I've been working in the UK for the last 6 months and have recently left my job as I was being bullied by my manager. I didn't make an official complaint about him but I did tell his superiors that he was the reason I was leaving. I was unable to deal with the stress of it any longer - I wasn't sleeping at night and was having chest pains on a daily basis so I thought it would be best to leave, go back to Ireland and sort my mental issues out.

    I am due to go back to Ireland shortly and wanted to apply for JSB but I read that they will suspend your pay for up to 9 weeks if you leave your job voluntarily. I also read that they are now sending a form (UP 20) to the previous employer to fill in and confirm why you left the job.

    What I am wondering is;

    a) Will they send that form out to my previous employers given that they are based in the UK?
    b) If I explain about being bullied and the fact that I informed my employer why I was leaving, is it possible that they will waive the 9 week suspension?

    I have never seen anyone who came back to Ireland after working abroad being disqualified for any period of time. A UP20 will not be sent to your employer in the UK.
