I don't know if there is a rant thread in this forum like other ones but here's my rant


Heading to interviews where they state what they're looking for and it's obvious you don't fit the bill, and wonder why they bothered interviewing you!
E.g. You've minimal teaching experience and they're describing someone who has years of experience

Ok. We just have to attend any we get called for and hope for the best. I wish schools would issue an essential and desirable criteria like in the UK. It's so much more straightforward. We're lucky to even get a rejection.

I know its difficult to appreciate the system here but with things like appeals etc, its very difficult to rule people out before interviews or issue very direct instructions. Having said that, interviews themselves are worth the experience and no one should make you feel bad in an interview.........

Or interviews were it is fairly obvious the position is already filled and they are just going through the motions.

Totally agree!! I had one of those and the VEC headquarters was 1hr30 away!! I was never at a more unprofessional interview. I won't be applying again!! I don't even look at the website anymore - totally disgusted!!

Saying that though they still legally have to do these interviews, I would imagine they would love to not have to go through the hassle of advertising it, getting in loads of applications, contacting people for interview, spending time at interviews and contacting people after, but legally they have to
