If the death penalty is reintroduced and an innocent person is executed then should those who have conspired in their killing be subjected to the death penalty ?

The fairest solution in that case would be to kill the executioner who ended the life of the innocent person.

No need to complicate things by targeting anybody else.

Yeah, the executioner should get it too. Then if upon further investigation it's found that the original execution was correct, then whoever executed the executioner must get executed. Execute.

Will we have to set up Executioners training colleges?

& will the trainer say .. "Watch carefully, I will only show you this once"?

But then you have the problem that after the first execution of an innocent* person then all those supporting the penalty will be killed off. ergo the penalty will then be removed from the statue books because all it's supporters will have died.

    * of course it gets really messy if they find DNA evidence that the "innocent" person really did do it and then the rest of us have to be killed off because of the murder of those who supported the penalty.
