    Hi,
can anyone recommend a Dog Groomer who could give a show cut to a Giant Schnauzer (11 months), preferably in the Dublin area, I can travel if necessary.

Be very very careful asking a groomer to groom him to show standard. Many will just shave him. If you are looking to show you will need him hand stripped! there is a huge difference to the finished result.

    Thanks Knine.
Her coat is hand stripped monthly, so it is reasonably flat at the moment. I would like to get the definition on the head, face and beard right. I reckon that is where the skill lies.
She looks more like a black mop at the moment and badly needs a cut. The heat is not helping either.

I believe there is a lady in the Skerries/Rush/Lusk area who is a specialist in grooming the breed but I cant track her down.

I hand strip to Show Standard but I just don't have the time at the min as I have 4 of my own dogs to do & my youngest child is going into hospital.

You could contact the breed Club Secretary which you will find on the IKC website & she might be able to help. You would really need someone familiar with the breed rather then a dog groomer who usually does pets.

Sounds like you have your hands full at the moment.

I will be out at the IKC classes in Cloughran this Tuesday. The are a few Giant Schnauzers and owners usually in attendance. I might pick up a few recommendations.

Do you have 4 Giant Schnauzers !

    Best wishes for your youngest.

    I have 3 x Border Terriers & 1 x Italian Spinone! I do love Giant Schauzers though!

I have an appointment this Saturday with a new groomer for my Giant Schnauzer. It's just north of Balbriggan. I'll see how it goes and I'll send you details.
