Gaming PC advice

    Hi chaps

Looking at getting a new pc to play Evolve, Far Cry 4, Star Wars Battlefront, the new Batman etc when they all come out.

    Budget of £900 - 2ScQhqj.png

Question is: is it worth buying now or should I wait 2 months? Will there be that much of a price difference / quality difference by then? Evolve isn't out until mid October.

Here's the filled out template from when I asked the same questions last year ;)

    1. What is your budget? About €1100

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming and Photo editing. I'd like to be able to play the newest games at 60fps or better

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? No

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? [Keyboard, Mouse]

    5. Do you need a monitor? [Yes, 24" ideally perhaps 2 if the budgets stretches]

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? [need a wireless card]

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? [yes]

    8. How can you pay? [on line]

    9. When are you purchasing? [next month or so]

I'd wait for the 4690k and 4790k processors to be available on amazon and hardwareversand (very soon). Nvidia are due a refresh but it's only expected in 2015.

    corsair 220r 45
    2x komputerbay 8gb 1600mhz 85
    samsung 840 evo 120gb 55
    wd 1tb 40
    i5 4670k 163
    gigabyte z97-hd3 84
    benq 2450hm 114
    hyper 212 evo 25
    Sapphire AMD R9 290 TRI-X OC 284
    cx 500 42

35 over but if needs be drop to a 770. The 4690k should be the same price as the 4670k (it's just there for referece). All gbp on amazon by the way.

Thanks for the info - how soon are the processors you mentioned likely to be available on amazon?

I've seen some shops with the ETA of 23rd of this month. Sounds about right.

    Hi,
    I think I'm set on a monitor - this one. http://www.ebuyer.com/519826-benq-gl2450hm-24-led-vga-dvi-hdmi-monitor-9h-l7cla-dbu-9h-l7cla-dbe

I've been looking at keyboards and they are incredibly priced, anyone have a recommendation for one?

Thanks, is 16GB entirely needed? From a lot of stuff I've been reading it seems 8GB is enough for most games? Just asking!

    Thanks again.

I just noticed that I said yes to overclocking in the OP, something I don't think I'd actually be interested in :(

Could anyone do me another build with links? :O

Then go for the I7 9470 "non k" about 260 euro.

Or the Xeon 1230. 208 euro.

    Both have 8 cores.

    Or go for a regular I 5 non k. 150 to 200.

Use Geizhals.de discount site, when using hardwareversand.
