What channels will I get with this 16" TV?

I need to get a small tv for my caravan as limited space. I can only find 19" models here in Ireland but saw this 16" on Amazon.

I bought a portable satellite dish on ebay so if I buy this Cello TV what channels will I be able to receive here (will be mostly in Wicklow for summer). I'm trying to have as little equipment for caravan as possible so not concerned if I can't get Saorview channels but will I be able to pick up BBC, UTV/ITV etc with this tv and a satellite dish. Will I also need a small aerial??

Totally confused about what is needed.... Thanks

You may need to connect the dish to a satellite reciever, then connt tv to that, you would be able to receive freesat chanells on 28e bbc, utv etc

The specs indicate it has an MPEG4,MP@HL,H.264 video decoder (Saorview's video compression standard) so it should work OK with Saorview. An aerial will be required, the type will depend on what the Saorview signal is like where you fix the aerial. Satellite receiver required with the satellite dish for the UK channels like the previous poster said.

This 19" model from Cello has built in satellite (DVB-S) and terrestrial (DVB-T) tuners - http://www.celloelectronics.com//products/detail_spec/73/C19103F_Traveller/

So I just need to connect it to satellite dish and should get most channels rte/bbc etc? Do I need a small aerial? Will this set up work without the need for a satellite receiver box?

Problem with the 19 inch is that it is too big for the space I have. I saw them in Powercity but sadly the stand is about 1" too deep for shelf in caravan and I have no wall space to hang it....

If you have a touring caravan it should have a Status aerial fitted, with 12v booster, which will pick up Saorview in most places (provided the TV is compatible) and BBC UTV etc via freeview in the North/ Border counties. You wont get RTE by satellite unless you use Saorsat.

These are the channels you'll get with the 16" TV, a Freesat or FTA satellite receiver and satellite dish, no Irish channels as mentioned above without a terrestrial aerial.

    FTA satellite channels - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_free-to-air_channels_at_28%C2%B0E
    Freesat satellite channels - http://www.freesat.co.uk/channels

Unfortunately our touring caravan is a fairly basic spec with no status aerial...

OK, so you can mount a basic UHF aerial on a pole clamped where the jockey wheel is fitted and still pick up Saorview/Freeview or go with a portable satellite dish, cheap enough on Amazon or Ebay and get UK channels free.

Good Call! No Scart connection though, so ensure whatever TV you buy has an HDMI connection (most do these days) :)

Status aerials are usually crap anyway. Use a proper aerial on a mast.
