Hi folks not sure if this is the right place to ask.

I hve had to have surgery and will have missed two weeks by the time I go back.

I already missed a week last month due to another surgery. As a result my employer cannot pay me for this additional sick leave. I had intended on applying for illness benefit however as far as I understand I won't get anything for the first week and only 188 for the second week.

My other option is to take 2 weeks holiday leave in order to get my full pay a I cannot lose the extra income especially having to pay out dicots fees and medication.

Can I claim illness benefit and then a number of holidays that would make up the difference to cove my pay? I am not sure if I can claim holiday days and this allowance at the same time.
