I have a asus a8n-sli deluxe which is giving me problems. So i have decided to replace it. I would like to keep the price down. So i was thinking of a board that would use my cpu: amd athlon 32 6400 and the ram which is 4* 1gg dim 333mhz. I would use it for xp/vista to do .net development plus computer games. The most taxing game i have is medieval war 2. I would like a board to utilise my 256mb nvidia gtx7800 graphics card. So what would be my best option?

EBay and try and find the same motherboard model?
You are looking at 9? year old hardware, a full upgrade wouldn't go astray :)

Is that an Athlon 64 3200 or an Athlon 64 6400?

There's still a good few old 939 boards like that on ebay and a few overpriced ones on adverts.ie.
Make sure to check their CPU support list to make sure they'll take your exact chip and that the seller says they're in working order.

If you're handy with a soldering iron some people also have some luck fixing old boards replacing the capacitors on it but it depends on the problem you're having.

But if you you're using a sata drive and have an extra few quid to spare this cpu+mobo+ram will run rings around that old system:

    Item|Price
    ASRock H81M-VG4, Sockel 1150, mATX|€33.67
    4GB G.Skill RipJaws PC3-12800U CL9|€33.70
    Intel Celeron G1820, 2x 2.70GHz, boxed|€29.14
    Shipping|€11.99
    Total|€108.50
