    Hi everyone.
Can someone tell me the difference between needing a root canal or just needing an extraction? Have a back tooth that has started to crumble.. its not sore or infected. It had some work before on it it was filled when it broke away the first time. Have dentist app booked but just nervous about cost etc. Thanks

If it isn't sore it is umlikely you will need a root canal. You night just need a reconstruction.

just going on my own experience of two molars who were filled and then broke off, both needed root canals, first one needed to be built back up quite a lot, second one need a little bit of building.

    Neither were painful in anyway
