If it's a new-ish car the acetone in nail-polish remover should dab it off. Use a little soaked in a soft cloth, and rinse it off as soon as you're done in case it soaks in and chemically damages the paint.

Make sure the nail polish remover contains acetone as most common ones dont and it is actually the acetone that removes the glue.

Erm, made a bit of a mess of gluing the casing of my mirror on and spilled super glue down the bodywork. By this stage it has dried in and is a right bloody mess. Anyone got any idea on how to remove it without damaging the bodywork. Have already tried petrol and white spirits.

Also tried a Stanley blade but was begining to chip the paintwork. Any hope at all of getting it off I do wonder

Thanks for moving my post and apologies as I should have done a search first.

I actually raided my sisters makeup bag box and tried her nail polish remover also. Tesco brand. Ingredients are Acetone, Aqua, Glycerin, Propylene, Glycol, Denatonium Benzonate. I would assume that Acetone is the main ingredient being listed first but not full sure. It also mentions with added Glycerin elsewhere on the bottle. Again to no avail.

I'm wondering should I look for a nail polish remover with 100% Acetone if such exists?

I had a similar incident with my old astra, I tried nail polish remover, did nothing, your best bet is to go to woodies or somewhere and get superglue remover, it looks like superglue but it's not, just apply it on the area and leave it for a few hours and wipe it off, good as new after that

Thanks toastedpickles, do you recall if the glue remover done any damage to the paintwork at all?

Nope, it was as if it wasn't even there afterwards
