    Hi,

So I lost my Ipad in France last friday. Its password locked so no use to whoever picked it up. Doesn't have any "find my Iphone apps" or the like installed. Has my name engraved on the back (was a present).

Any ideas how I might track it down ? Back in Ireland now. I know its a lost cause but I thought I'd ask anyway. Any ideas ?

    Thanks.

Even without any of the find my iPhone apps installed you should still be able to track it using Find My iPhone because it's just a setting that is turned on. Try it and see. Is it on iOS 7?

No. I never updated the OS to 7. I doubt whoever has it can actually use it but it would be great if I could remotely lock it. A friend checked something (viber I think) and it seems it hasn"t been online since the night I lost it.

Find my iPhone isn’t an app. It’s a setting that’s been available since iOS 5. However, since you are unfamiliar with it, it’s most likely not enabled. Log into iCloud.com to check. If it’s not enabled then you won’t be able to remotely lock or track the device. Pre-iOS 7 it was fairly easy for a thief to erase and restore the phone anyway.
