I was wondering wouldn't it be a way cheep to just order computer parts from the US ?
The price for a lot of componants and cases what ever are the same price in dollars but when converted you save away more i no you have to take shipping into consideration but im sure there a couple of big PC Parts sites that do free or cheep international shipping ?

You have to pay import duty plus VAT if customs get it. It's not always caught by customs, but you've no way to know until it happens.
I had to pay €30 on a warrenty replacement kindle valued at €100 to give you an idea of the cost, I should have been able to get that money back but customs just kept sending me onto different departments until they gave me an email address that didn't work and I gave up.

Ah i new there would be some catch somewhere.
Is there any way of stopping them from getting it ? and s it a set price or just based off what is being shipped over ?

Hmm, I thought if you bought anything within the EU you were covered, tax-wise. Balls.

I used hardwareversand (using the geizhals.de discount) and computeruniverse.net when buying my parts.
Buying outside of EU is fun til you need to return something.

Oh yeah i no it would be a pain if its faulty but what i mean is

    hardwareversand.de
    http://www.hardwareversand.de/en/Sockel+1150/78030/Intel+Core+i7-4770K+Box%2C+LGA1150.article = €288

    Scan.co.uk
    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/intel-intel-core-i7-4770k-1150-haswell-quad-core-35ghz-39ghz-turbo-1250mhz-gpu-35x-ratio-84w-retail = £247.40 = €307.50

    Newegg
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116901 = 339.99 US Dollars = €250

Yes i no Hardwareversand.de is pretty well priced and shipping is fairly cheap.
But if you were to order a hole system from newegg or equivalent shop in america that has worldwide posting at a nice price or even free would'nt it be worth while ?

Another comparison i done was the Gigabyte Radeon R9 290X WindForce 3X in Hardwareversand.de it is €500 but if you were to order it from newegg its €380 so between to parts your already up 160ish so if that was a hole system depending on how much you were putting into the system it could be worth your while but only if you get somewhere that ships world wide with good price shipping. See my point ? :)

If you flew to america and brought back a suitcase full of them it would be worth it, but you'd end up paying a lot of money on a full build if you pay tax and vat and shipping.. Shipping for the 40kg package from hwvs is going to be 1/100th of what it would be from the us :(. it's just the way it works unfortunately. Also dealing with returning something to america would be a nightmare if it was faulty.

Inside the eu you don't pay any extra charges. You'll just pay the price with vat from hwvs, their postage, and that's it

    How's HWVS' customer service?

When I purchased from HWVS, I was expecting the total to increase a little before I ordered to take into account the higher Irish VAT rate, but there was no change, so I assume they must have adjusted the pre-VAT price downwards so that the total price would remain the same after adjusting to the Irish VAT rate.

Unfortunately amazon.co.uk don't do the same.

They don't have the good English.

That blows the myth about most Germans having excellent English skills.

Didn't have any issues with my order, so I never had to speak to them on the phone luckily. German companies don't seem to be that skilled in the advertising & marketing areas in comparison to say, UK companies in general.
