    Hey all,

Current firmware of my Y200-100 is V100R001C477B167 It came sim-free as part of a prize, and not from the likes of Meteor, etc.

Can I update it to V100R001C479B195 or to V100R001C479B197 ?

My confusion is over a section in the upgrade manual of V100R001C479B195 that states

    Versions can be upgraded
    Y300-0100 V100R001C479B176
    Y300-0100 V100R001C479B182
    Y300-0100 V100R001C479B186
    Y300-0100 V100R001C479B192
    Y300-0100 V100R001C479B195

Thus I'm wondering is the C479 an update of C477, or is C479 a totally different phone?

Phone crashed/froze today. Had to reboot twice for it to see the SD card, so f**k it, I'll update it, and see if it improves.

This is looking good. Although I had backed up my info, whenit asked if I wanted to backup my info before I update, so I backed up my stuff to the SD card.

After the initial "installing" screen, it rebooted, and then showed an "android" logo, and the rebooted again, and then showed the "android" logo, and then it asked for my sim unlock number, followed by the setting up my gmail account.

Now updated to V100R001C479B195. Once this was done, it automatically got me to update to B197 (V100R001C479B197 ), and got me to allow it to reboot. It unacked and installed it, and then reboted. Android logo once more comes us. Goes through optimizing all my apps. I think the B197 has to do with the heartbleed fix.

Notification Panel is now gone. Boo.

Used the "Backup" utility to restore all data from SD card. All messages back with the correct date (bar 3 which show as 07:47, but when I open them, they have the correct date. Call log has also been restored, but the numbers and names are not linking up fully.

Have not found how to get the "Notification Panel" back yet.

Found a free app called Notification Toggle replaces the Notification Panel very nicely.

Also updated to V100R001C479B195, and found it pretty fast so i tried the next firmware update. I've found it to be pretty slow so far tbh campared to the short time i used b195
