I'm just wondering has anyone had an extension to their lower jaw for dental reasons. I have an overbite and was suggested to get braces but for a better result, get jaw surgery too. Would just like to weigh up the options.

Ideal option is what was recommended to you i am assuming from your orthodontist, orthognathic surgery (jaw correction surgery)is a major procedure done through a lot of planning so if somebody assessed you and told you you needed it then that will be best option, but a second opinion from another orthodontist/surgeon will never go amiss

Once surgery and its associated supportive orthodontics is done , dramatic results can be achieved
