    Hi
If you have an appointment to get a replacement licence (which I lost) at one of the new driver licence centres
Do you actually get the new licence in your hand on the day of the appointment?
Or do they post it out.

Also I live in cork and there are no appointments available. I have booked one for the Waterford Centre which is 1:30 drive for me . Do you think it's best to stick with the appointment rather than rocking up at the cork Center without an appointment? I hear that you may have to wait a number of hours
    Thanks in advance
    J

It is posted out after 8-9 days. The Cork centre also offers same day walk-in appointments (about 60), but you would need to be there before opening time. There is no waiting anymore, you simply book in and ensure you are back 5 minutes before your allocated appointment slot. Most people just go across town for a coffee while waiting. No sense in driving all the way to Waterford. A new NDLS office is opening in Mallow town centre later in the summer

You will be posted out new licence this is probably done in China as it could take 2 weeks.

You are definitely better having an appointment but could be quiet on the day you rock up to the door.
People booked will be seen before you...

Rental company won't accept anything but actual licence.

    Hi again,
Am I dreaming in thinking of calling the licence people to see if I can get a licence done as an emergency ? It's a replacement after all can't be that hard?? As I am on their system.

There's no system for emergency licences. All have to be security printed, hand written as beloved by Cork councils are impossible.

Cancel the car booking and take local taxis.
