Hey guys, would anybody with some info whether it be through personal experience or someone you know be able to tell me what Rathmines College is like to attend? I'm considering joining it after the summer as I've sort of gotten tired of not going to college, but amen't interested in paying tuition fees which I'd be required to pay if I went back to an IT or university. I was in there last week and seemed like an alright enough place, doesn't have a very college feel to it but then again I was only inside it a whole two minutes.

I work in a nearby college and I've only heard good things about Rathmines. They seem to make a lot of effort in promoting the place. What courses are you thinking of doing?

Hi there, I did a legal secretary course there about 7 years ago. They were great! The college even got me a job and im still in that job today!

The classes are quite small (id say about 20 or so) and the courses are all continual assessment which I personally think is a lot better than the standard exam format. I think the exams only count 40% of your overall grade so it really takes the pressure off. The teachers I have to say are the best there. They really take a personal approach to their students and really take pride in their work.

By way of facilities, the kitchen/canteen isn't great. You can only get munchies like crisps and chocolate but with it being in the centre of Rathmines you have plenty to chose from. Its quite small but they do have a separate building on Leinster Road but none of my classes were there.

I was desperate in school. I just didn't have a head to sit and study and do exams etc. But coming out of this course I got full merits in everything, so they must be doing something right! They arranged nights out for us when we finished our exams etc. so they definitely look after you.

To be honest, I don't have a bad word to say about the place! I would recommend it. Any questions, feel free to ask!
