I can buy a van but the owner informs that it drives, with blue and white smoke.
He has not driven it for 2 years for that reason but it will drive me home.
What does blue and white mean?
    Online I found:
Blue is oil? and white is water?
But what is wrong with the engine and what needs be done?
Are the costs worth it and can that be done by enthousiast with little knowledge and no garage?
The van is dirt cheap at 600 euro.

It could be a bargain or it could be flushing €600 down the drain.

Do you know anyone who is mechanically knowledgeable and could give it a quick look over for a few bucks/pints? If you don't know anything about cars or don't know anyone who does then I'd tend to air on the side of caution and walk away. If you have no clue then buying anything in this price range is a complete fine field.

Blue and white smoke? Must be a cavan van, steer clear!

Lol I actually went to see a car in cavan and it was a rustbucket with holes in the beams and smoke as well.
Owner claimed it would pass the test no problem.
Donegal is also dodgy it seems?
