    This was a couple of weeks ago.

    Fairing came loose from a flap runner. Apparently the aircraft plunged and missed a school.

    A bit of duct tape and off they go again! Alarming looking for the uninitiated but non structural so no danger.

    I remember helping some Engineers duct tape some 'false work' non structural panels under the wing of a Boeing. The people boarding seemed fascinated!

    I was actually chatting to one of the cabin crew from this flight a few days later in DUB. he had taken a video of it, and in fairness, it did look pretty bad, even to those of us who wouldn't necessarily be worried by such things. The fairing on the RJ is probably a couple of feet long, so imagine that flailing around and banging up off the underside of the wing continuously.
