Galway: 1 Room for July/August

Hi all,

25-year-old male here looking for a room in Galway City (preferably close to the town centre) in July and August of this year. I will be working there throughout those months. Unfortunately, websites such as daft.ie and rent.ie are looking for longer leases. I am hoping to find a place with others who are in a similar routine (9-5 etc).

If any of you could be so kind to pass this on to someone who might have a vacancy for those months I would be grateful. Just drop me a private message!

No, they're not. You just need to use the short-term option:

Hi Bumble,

Thanks for someone getting back to me. I saw that but those short term leases are for the full house/apartment. They would be suitable for groups or couples who want the place for a specific time, but unfortunately it is just myself! I am hoping that someone will have a spare room which they would be glad to get rent for during July and August, which they otherwise might not.

If any of you have any other tips or ideas please send them on, it's getting close!

Worth a shot try someone advertising on airbnb and ask about longer time.

I saw at least one 1brm in there when I looked.

And you should try contacting the student accommodation villages anyway - some of them are one-brm units, and they may be doing some by the room.


NB You will be pushing your luck to get a room in a house in peak tourist season. Between the races and the arts fest, people have a lot of visitors!
