Electric hot water tap

At the moment we are using a timer for 15mins for the immersion just to heat the water in the tap for the summer (just warm water not hot) and in the winter, we turn off the immersion and use the oil range instead which heats water taps and rads

Just wondering, would it be better to install the electric hot water tap to save on energy/electricty cost or would it make any difference?

DJ on radio Nova the other day started running his hot tap in the kitchen, filling & emptying a litre jug till the water was hot. He wasted 6 litres of cold water. From October he'll have to pay for that 6 litres down the drain. I would think that & the cost of heating the other 6 litres of hot water that he left in the pipe when he was finished makes it a no brainer.
These taps work perfectly. You might be a few years getting a return on the investment but worth it in the long run

This is an old thread I know, but it might be better to latch on here rather than start a new one. So I have a kitchen sink that is located so far from the hot water immersion tank that I am interested in installing a hot-water electric tap. Not a boiling water trap, I have no interest in replacing the kettle or installing under-sink cylinders. I am talking about a tankless hot water type with built in element heater in the 2kW range. So can I expect that these taps can fill a kitchen with sink with 50 degrees water?

It all depends on what you buy. The really cheap ones are cheap plastic cack and the life span could be months rather than years. Some of the cheap ones won't reach 50C. Have a good look at the specs. They will give max temperature
