    Howdy,

I have a 3rd party OBD interface for my VAG and a BMW E90 which could make use of a fault code scan.

    - Does the e90 use the same interface?
    - any VAGCOM equivalents for BWM?

    Thanks.

Which vagcom interface do you use? Which e90 have you got?

The k-line vag interface should work with e90's up until 2009 or so. This interface can be made work with inpa. There are other software which will pull down obdii codes only but the likes of inpa will give you much more.

I think vagcom has a generic obdii tool built into it, this should work with an e90

I have a generic third party interface which I use with VCDS Lite (previously VAGCOM free). I do not know much about the e90 other than that it is a 2009 2 litre diesel.

INPA should do what you want ,DIS can be a pain to install. But if you want the workshop manuals you will need it. But just for fault code or programming if I remember correctly INPA will do fine.

A member here tried using vagcom on my E92 and it wouldn't read it. There was a company doing a program (think it was INPA) but they no longer exist.
