Offline Maps?

    I'm off to the south of France and I will need some maps. I've fiddled around with Google offline maps but it only lets you save a fairly small section. Can anyone recommend anything else please?

    Are the tom tom maps worth buying for navigator. Looks decent with the open maps but whole of Europe tom tom maps are only 20 euro. Are they a significant improvement I wonder.

    What do you NOT get for free with Navigator?

    Personally I have been using Route 66

    The maps are free, as are the directions, but the voice guidance you have to pay a small charge for

    osmand + downloaded map of France. Free version of osmand is exactly the same as paid version, but limited to 10 maps. It's free & open source
