Options for sticky out ears

I'm looking for options for correcting my daughter's sticky out ears.

She's only four and I'd hoped to wait for a while but she came home from montessori the other day asking why her ears where so sticky out and why she couldn't have flat ears like everyone else... Broke my heart! And she does have very sticky out ears, we both have them in our families me and my husband and it looks like she got a double serving!

So, what options are there for a four year old? And what does it involve? I've done a little bit of research and came across something called "earfold", is it available in Ireland?

I must confess I hate the thought of my little girl "going under the knife", would it be better to wait til she's older? I'm just worried that she'll be tormented starting school after the summer, kids that age can be so cruel.

Last but not least, is it possible to get it done through the public system? As far as I've been able to work out it's quite a costly procedure and I'm not sure if we'd be able to afford it...

Would apreciate if anyone had any info they could share - many thanks!
