Claiming back VRT

    folks can anyone tell me, a friend of mine lived in dublin and he imported a car from the north and paid the vrt, he is now living in the north with the same car, can he reclaim the vrt and if so how can this be done?

    In order to qualify for a repayment, the vehicle must, amongst other things, have a value (OMSP) as determined by Revenue for VRT purposes of at least €2,000. An administrative charge of €500 will be charged. NCTS fees will also apply.
