Hoping to make this tomorrow evening but won't be going very fast, simply laying down a marker after a couple of months of injury.
At this stage I'd be happy with just going sub 14...gotta restart from somewhere!

Were you there?? I stared hard at anyone I didn't know, but no one said they were a visitor from Galway. If you were there, hope you enjoyed it. It was a hot night for it!

I was. I wore my subtle green Tuam AC t-shirt which I suppose blended well with some of the other Shamrock green on display :)

Really enjoyed it, signed up in the clubhouse before hand and a couple of members were on their way to the course for a warm-up and brought me along with them. Did 2 laps pre-race and one to cool down.

I've been in a bit of a rut training-wise recently, but Tuesday gave me a good lift - small friendly crowd, nice set-up and a (flat) course, friendly welcome afterwards in the clubhouse. Spurred me on to a couple of laps of Malahide Castle this morning before heading west again.

It was hot on Tuesday alright, very glad of the shaded start and finish.

I didn't chat much with anyone but enjoyed looking at the pics and posters on the walls while drinking the tea. Spoke briefly with Pat (signed me up also) and welcomed anyone from Raheny to Tuam anytime they were in the area for a run. I'll definitely make it back to Raheny again some time soon.

    Great stuff. Thanks again :)

Sorry I didn't see you! I did it in 13 minutes, so not sure if you were still hanging round the finish then and might have spotted me, or if you'd gone off on a cool down. Yes, the tea and biscuits is a good place to meet people and chat! Glad you enjoyed it!

Not quite, I was a minute behind you :) I'll be sure to say hello next time I'm up there.

Always found that line in the ad pretty confusing.... I mean it became clear what the situation was the first time I did one of the series events, but odd wording to use!

I think it's just because when people hear it's a 'club' race, they think it's for club members only, when actually it's open to all. I know a few people who did the race series first, got to know people, got to know the club etc, and then decided to join, so it's a commitment-free way to get a feel for a club as well.

I have ran all these bar last week as I am in Spain, and as a none club member can confirm everyone is made feel very welcome. I am loving the shorter distance as I have never raced anything this short before. I will be back in 2 weeks, looking forward to it.
