I have read all the posts here with regard to roadside advertising but there is no definitive answer. Is an 8x4 advertising trailer parked along the roadside on a grass verge legal or illegal in Dublin or Meath ? I understand we all have to put up with civil servants in the council and their whims and humours and each council has their own way of doing things. BUT as a non permanent structure (trailer with wheels) parked in a safe place ( not near junctions or signposts etc) should it be ok ?

    Illegal and strictly enforced.

Some people get agreement from landowners to park their sign there.

Others get permission from council if its a special event.

How do councils enforce it ? Is it a fine ? Do they tow it away ? Do you get a warning first ?
