I am in my 50's. I have pain in my back and alot of muscle pain mainly in my legs,(calves and thighs).X Ray has shown arthritis in my hips.I have done the rounds with
physiotherapy ,acupuncture, etc. Is there any farmer out there that knows of someone or somehow where I could get relief from my suffering.

It's hard as there are so many causes.
I've seen a marked deterioration in my back myself again with addition neurological symptoms. Along with pain, pins and needles, numbness I've now developed a pulsating buzzing sensation in one leg as if I had a phone sowen into my thigh and it was ringing on vibrate.

Regular stretching and exercise are always good. My mrs recommended a Morepa Omega 3 supplement which has natural anti inflammatory properties. I've found it generally good but of course no miracle cure. A nice side effect is that it seems to have reduced my blood pressure so I've been able to cut back on that medication. But it's not cheap.

We have a jacuzzi bath and it's a boon for relaxing the back and relieving stress in the joints, even alone ;)

I'm afraid it's sometimes just down to minimising the discomfort and then just getting bye. I've been told by more than one consultant that I'll never be pain and discomfort free so just learn to get on with it. I'm just 42 !

I'm afraid I don't but I wish you luck with your search, pain is no fun. I do remember seeing something about bee stings and arthritis, I don't know how it turned out, think I saw it on TV a few years ago.

Same boat here. Noticing my back to be getting worse with time and having to get treatment more often. New problems in my hips and lower back are from all the running on roads or so I'm told.

Amazing the pain that does appear when you don't train for a few days as the muscles try to go back to their old positions. I find omega 3 capsules and glucosamine chondritin and MSN capsules great to keep most of the problems away. You can get them in Holland and Barretts stores

Have you tried an ostiopath. I find them great esp for back troubles and thay may be able to help you get some relief.

The Galway ostiopath here worked wonders for me.

Cod liver oil daily, can help. Also I take Glucosamine tablets, two a day, and they seem to help. Knees are wrecked.(all the praying) You can give 10 euro a bottle of tablets in the chemist, or 1.75 for the same thing in Lidl or Aldi.

There is a difference in the extraction method of the Morepa Omega3 that gives loads more something or other, I'm not going to BS you I just listened to herself, she's a dietician/nutritionist.. Its more expensive of course but a bit of relief and more flexibility is worth a bit..

Glad it worked for you but it wouldn't be for me..

    From their website..

The principle of the technique is that, the energy contained within the fluid content of the body is altered. It is believed that this disturbance of energy provides a kick-start to the body’s innate healing system.

What they're really saying is, we do this crazy waving hands stuff and some people believe it makes a difference.. I suppose its a bit like visiting a faith healer - you'd need to believe in a certain amount of mumbo-jumbo to start with.

yes it won't work for every one including my oh ( but we feared that before hand)

I have always only stated facts noted from personal experience on this forum I'd appreciate it if others including you would the same

have you tried the bowen technique yourself? or are you just another google poster on here?

If you have arthritis in your hips all you can do is get them replaced. Glucosamine and cod liver oil are grand if you start taking them at 30, waste of time otherwise.

My father started having trouble with his hip about 7 years ago, started with a tightness in his groin muscle. He struggled on as long as possible for years and had plenty of pain. He was unable to run as a result and it would get very sore in the evenings after working all day. He had the operation in the Galway Clinic about 2 years ago this month. The first 6 months are hardship but constantly getting better, have to mind yourself. At this stage he's back to mid fifties level (at 67). He's able to run again, lift stones for building walls, etc. His only regret is that he didn't do it sooner.

He was able to do little enough for the first 6 months as you's expect, so timing and having someone there is crucial.

    Sounds scientific alright!

Bowen had no formal medical training,[1] and described his approach as a "gift from God". wikipedia

it has come on leaps and bounds in the last few years, now its up and out doing things, neighbour got hers done in the sports clinic in santry a couple of months ago-shes only just over 40- and is walking miles each day. Same as after my mother had her back surgery, up and out of bed the next day. Great job.

Try them capsules I mentioned earlier. Great stuff for the knees. Pain only returns when I forget to take them
