My father is flying back to Ireland from France with Aer Lingus tomorrow morning and has had an accident meaning he can't walk without assistance. It's too late to get through to the Aer Lingus at this hour. Has anyone experience of this or does anyone know what's the best thing to do at the airport to try and get a wheelchair for transport to the gate?

He should try to get in touch with airport services at the airport in France (possibly listed on airport website), they would be the ones providing the wheelchair assistance there anyway.
Otherwise he should get to the airport as far in advance of his flight as possible to allow time for a wheelchair or electric buggy to be organised to the gate-he should ask at Aer Lingus check in desk even if he is checked in already. Hopefully he gets on ok :)

I don't have a phone number but try emailing

    SpecialAssistance@aerlingus.com

I had to do similar recently, I had a bit more time than you though, found them very helpful, have the booking ref number, it helps

Firstly, I hope he will be okay again real soon :)

Secondly, you could ensure he arrives at Airport early enough for AerLingus to be able to provide one. They would also be able to put a call through to the Irish side to ensure one is there for use once he lands in Ireland to take him to the car.

What happens at that point is in your hands. You could contact your local GP to assist since I assume they'll be checking him over anyways :)

    Hope that assists,

Thanks everyone. The Aer Lingus desk were indeed able to organise the wheelchair both for take off and landing and he had a comfortable flight :)
