It's not really a special offer, they have basically re-branded the Zelos as the "TDF limited edition". The Zelos was always €320 as well. Exact same spec.

If I was you I'd splash the extra €70 and get the higher speced yellow TDF which now comes with Shimano Claris.

Or better still, put a wanted ad on the adverts sub forum here looking for a road bike, you'll get more for your money second hand.

    Changed the title

What Seaneh said basically. It's at that price 99% of the time, and that's really what it's worth.

I'm going from the hybrid to a road bike and was looking at halfords too. I have a voucher for a good few quid for there which was a very important part of the negotiations with the oh. :)

The tdf is close enough in price to the virtuouso http://www.halfords.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_11101_catalogId_15551_productId_810675_langId_-1_categoryId_212536

I may be able to do a strong push to the Boardman but I'd be selling my soul to her for that money atm it's 625 or so

I.know these questions are asked here all the time but I'd appreciate some advice on which to go for.

    TDF, virtuouso or the Boardman?

If it helps I've been on the hybrid for about 2 years and would hit 50 - 60k on occasion, I'm keen to do more.

I know thre are prob decent bikes elsewhere for the money but the voucher is king here I'm afraid!

    Thanks,

    TH

The boardman is the only one you won't end up wanting to replace within the year.

TDFs and Virtuosos are fine for commuting and hacking about but you'll probably resent their weight and looks pretty quickly.

She won't be complaining when she's able to bounce a coin off your arse.
