Hi I am starting to look at internal stuff for a new build and I am thinking of putting a double sided insert fire between our snug room and the main Kitchen/dining..

There is a fixed wall between these 2 areas , wont be just the fireplace separating the rooms..

I am looking at something quite contemporary in style and was wondering if anyone else got something like this and do they find them good heat providers.

    :)

I was looking at something similar for our renovation job instead. Difference was that fireplace was in the middle of a large, split level room, with sitting room on one side and dining room on the other.

Considered an open fire first, then looked at the double sided stoves.

However, have no decided to block up the chimney altogether and put in a bio-ethanol fire instead. Not near as much heat, but no drafts or low of heat to worry about.

Another thing I considered was just leaving it as an open fire, putting in a back boiler (to the side) and putting a glass door on either side.
