    Hi All,
Recently moved and the house has some bad rot around the fascia in the front and back.

Can anyone advise how big (costly) a job this is to fix?

    Cheers

depends on whether its a patch up job or a replacement. prices do vary of course but from looking at the pic i'd say its a 3 bed semi-d and they usually run from 1000 up depending on lenghts, no. of corners and such.

The ply patches could be concealing serious rot behind so after opening up you should insist that any rotten structural timber (by that I mean the gable ladder/ rafter behind the bargeboard and fascia) be cut out, new timber spliced in as required and the whole lot treated with a wood preservative. Any soft, decayed wood left untreated could attract woodworm infestation down the road and you would be unaware if the lot has been overclad with PVC.
