I've done it. It'd depend on the weight of the paper though, since if it's very thin it might rip easier. I'd say anything above 65/70gsm and you should be fine. Sure give it a go and see, worse thing that'll happen is a paper jam, and they're reasonably easy to sort out, especially on a little home printer.

I have heard of suggestions of adhering lightweight paper to ordinary printer paper by just a few tiny pieces of double-sided tape or a little glue-stick or roller adhesive, strategically positioned, just to keep it moving.

There is no guarantee that the ink will 'take' on the surface of the tracing paper as it is very smooth, but only way to find out is to try.

Put a single piece of precut A4 tracing paper onto the paper stack and run a document with a very small amount of text on and see what happens. Don't run a document with lots of colours or images on until you have tried it, as it will make a mess of the printer if it does not work. It may take a few seconds more to dry than usual.

I tried this the other day. The ink stuck to the paper and I had no problems with smudges but it got stuck at the top. I think i should just prit stick it to an ordinary a4 the next time

    thanks everyone.

    the image looks fantastic
