Street racing - idiots everywhere

I read quite often on this forum about idiots on the streets, pirates, boy racers and another people who slightly drive/ drove over the speed limit.

Check out this video from Poland's capital city.

It got to attention of media in Poland, so I'm sure Police is working now to find the driver, as media are chasing them for an update every day.
I've also seen on many portals, that people found other videos of this m3 driver, and they were able to forward to media information like - his pictures from facebook profile, name, surname, address, place of work, car reg number and even his company details.

I'm originally from Poland myself, and yes sometimes i drive few km over the limit, but I really hope this particular driver will molder in jail. And lets be happy we have only our boy racers in Ireland :)

The best one can hope for is that they take nobody with them when natural selection finally takes care of these morons.

what makes me smile is the fact any road like that in my part of Poland, there is multiple radar speed cameras and I always see Police around! They must have really hit the jackpot with having neither in those 12 minutes!

Also they wont allow RHD cars to be registered here as its too dangerous and they will cause accidents............:D

check 4:07 on the video - idiot is passing crash scene and few policemen on his way.

There was an interview with Police spokesman - he said, that policemen just seen a flying bullet passing them, and had no chance to react , or see the car make.

Should be, before he turns into something else.

Even his passenger got scared and asked him to calm down on 2 occasions - he didn't listen.

Good driver or not, this is no place to do racing, and there were few close calls in 12 minutes. Not to mention his attitude towards other drivers.
Pushing his way through like he did is a pet hate of mine.

He will crash/die sooner or later, because no skills can save him, sooner or later someone will jump out in front of him (pedestrian or bike or car, whatever) or suddenly move out and block his way, there is plenty inexperienced or very tired drivers, all it takes is someone move without checking side mirror and it's all over.

Unreal to be fair, what an absolute dickhead.

Observed alot of street racing over the last 30 years but I can't remember seeing anything so thoughtless towards other road users.

He won't last long at these speeds and actually i'm surprised he lasted for twelve minutes!

Which is actually even worse than the "street racing" clips, as the towed car has very little brake efficiency available with the engine off...

    Yeap.
Out of towing with a rope on motorway, and towing at 180km/h, towing with hazards on was first that hit my mind

I don't think any car has reduced brake efficiency with engine off.
All what happens there is no vacuum in a servo, so you need bigger force with your foot on a pedal to achieve the same braking as with less foot pressure with engine running.
It doesn't mean though, that brake efficiency is reduced - it isn't.

It is though, if one is not aware and prepared, experienced, the pedal goes to the floor first with no brake application ~ am I right?

Brakes work exactly as good as always.
All is different, is greater pressure on brake pedal needed to achieve the same level of braking.

No, it doesn't. As a matter of fact it is much harder to hit the floor.

Much, much harder. And if that m3 braked, the towed car would have no chance to stop on time.

Exactly, you can turn the wheels, but it takes much more force to do it.

The problem with brakes is that if there is no servo it feels like there is no brakes. You really have to jump on the pedal to stop on time.
For an average driver it feels like there are no brakes.

I wouldn't really class m3 driver as average.

The m3 was a towing vehicle, not a towed one;)

By an average driver I meant a driver, not a specific car.

If the brakes don't work as well as they possibly can that's called reduced efficiency :D

That's like saying a hydraulics failure in a 747 doesn't reduce its ability to fly it just makes it harder !

Looking at 1:09 and I wonder did he check his mirrors before he overtook the car?

He reminds me of someone who used to regularly release videos of his speeding (that he'd sell on some website). I think it was a similar type of car? The main difference being the other person seemed to have had better spatial awareness than this clown.

    Efficiency is energy out/energy in.

If brakes are no longer power assisted, it doesn't mean they are less efficient, just not assisted.

The guy in the video ought to be taken out before he hurts someone. Image your OH/kids etc.. being injured on account of a knobber like this. How'd that make you feel?

The point being they don't work properly.

If you were ever towed or have had a power failure in the car due to an electrical problem it's definitely much harder to stop.

Are we discussing the technicality of the term "efficiency"? From the towed car's driver standpoint, which is the only one that really matters, the brakes don't work as well as they do with the engine running; The force required on the pedal to achieve the same braking force is greatly increased and there is not a single chance in hell that the unpowered car could effectively perform an emergency stop.

The fact that the brake calipers, ducts, piston et all work just as well as they do with the engine running is completely irrelevant when the driver is incapable of applying enough pressure to the controls.

Even if there was some monster of a bodybuilder that can squat 500 kilos at the wheel, the maximum realistic force the driver can apply is that of his/her own body weight; Above that, they'd literally start standing on the pedal.

The two boys were debating the use of the word efficiency - what's complicated about this for you?
