Neither of those links are to carbon clinchers? They both have aluminium braking surfaces.
Planet x ones look kinda nice though, not something their gear can often be accused of imo. :)

Second set look like hongfu or similar.

    Plenty of those online.

I think velobuild.com has loads of info and reviews on Chinese carbon.

the planet x ones are aluminium wheels with a carbon fairing. Nice wheels tho, I had a set a while back. Internal nipples are a pain for truing iirc.

If you have to have clinchers then stay with alloy and maybe try the tubeless option. If you want a light wheel go with a 24mm or 38mm carbon tubular .
I bought a set of 24mm tubs weighing 1100grams last year , fitted them with 25mm Continental Sprinter Gatorskins and used them for the first time on the Wicklow 200 .It was only my second sportive, having done the Ring of Kerry the previous summer. I flew around in 7hrs 45mins and found them great on the climbs.I have since put up 7k on them with only 1 puncture and one broken spoke last week which I replaced myself from the 2 spares that come with the wheels.
If you are not too concerned with punctures and cycle on smooth tarmac fit the wheels with Vittoria Corsas and you will feel like you are airborne !
You will not make a more definitive change to any bike than to fit this combination and you will never go back ! If you want more details give me a shout.

tubs most certainly rock, but as a day to day I dont think I'd be comfortable. I know astramonti runs his day to day.

Well I dont use a bike to commute..... but if I did I would use my wheel/tyre combo with no worries at all. All my km`s are clocked up in west of Ireland minor roads with poor surfaces and loads of thorns this time of year. I`m waiting to replace the back tyre that got punctured (I made a mess of repairing it) but the front is practically the same as new and will hopefully last as long as the new rear.

Merlin are selling 38mm carbon tubs for €306 ATM, I posted the link in the bargains thread last week.

I was just looking at those. Is it difficult to swap from a campy hub to shimano?

I "think" they they are novatech hubs, if so it's a simple straight swap, haven't researched it though.
Edit: Actually it's not straight forward, complete hub needs changing, so wheel rebuild. Even at that the cost of the hub plus getting it fitted it will still be a great price for the wheelset.

The carbotech wheels on merlin are novatec hubs, freehub swap from campy to shimano is a 10 min job! Swapped freehub on 50mm tubs last week, the freehub is a type A (12mm axel) simply unbolt, swap freehub, rebolt.
